Our team consists of an energetic group of agricultural consultants whose range of expertise includes:

 

 

  • Agronomy: Determining suitable farming systems for individual farmers. Increasing the potential of farm enterprises through soil fertility management, cropping requirements, appropriate grazing regimes and animal husbandry. Maximising grassland stocking rates for land type/terrain and farm size of individual holdings. Designing farmyards in compliance with current Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine regulations.
  • GLAS: Preparation and submission of GLAS applications.
  • Nutrient Management Planning:  Soil testing and analysis for all land types and crop requirements. Advice on appropriate application rates of both organic and chemical fertilisers determined from soil analysis. Advice on cost
    effectiveness of efficient use of fertilisers whilst protecting the environment.
  • Cross compliance: Approved Farm Advisory System (FAS) consultants with the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine. Assist farmers on all aspect of cross compliance and Good Agricultural and Environmental Conditions (GAEC) regulations.
  • Basic Payment Scheme: Approved Basic Payment Scheme, National Reserve, ANC and Young Farmers Scheme agency. Advice on meeting requirements for each scheme application.

 

  • TAMS applications: Preparation of applications for grant aid under TAMS including farm visit, advise on scheme requirements, appropriate designs to comply with current regulations, submission of applications and payment
    claims completion.
  • Nitrates regulations: Completion of applications for nitrates derogations for clients where required. Advice and calculations on organic waste produced over a typical winter and the facilities required under nitrates regulations to store this material. Detailed explanation of requirements in complying with derogation regulations.
  • Hen Harrier & Pearl Mussel Scheme: Approved planner for both schemes. Detailed habitat mapping completed whilst identifying areas to improve scores
    for individual farms. Completion and submission of applications for both schemes.
  • EIAR’s: Specialise in agronomy aspects of EIAR’s. Working as part of a team with other technical experts in preparation of these detailed documents.
    Attendance at oral hearings. Recent work includes agronomist on the proposed South Kerry Greenway project.
  • Expert witness/Legal reports: Assessments and reports completed for compensation claims, loss of income calculations, disputes, CPO’s assessments including arbitration hearings.
  • Organic Farming: Advice on current organic farming rules and regulations. Assist farmers with conversion plans. Applications completed for grant aid and submitted to Organic Unit of Department of Agriculture for clients
